How to Measure Correctly:
Do not guess your size. You must measure the INSIDE diameter of your bicycle frame's head tube (both top and bottom) using a digital caliper.
Integrated (IS) vs. Cups (ZS/EC):
If your frame is "Integrated" (commonly 42-52mm), you do not need metal cups. The bare bearings drop directly into the carbon or alloy frame.
If your frame is not integrated (like 44mm, 55mm, or 56mm), the headset will come with aluminum cups that must be hammered or pressed tightly into your frame first.
Star Nut vs. Carbon Expansion Plug:
Alloy/Steel Forks: Must use the standard metal Star Nut.
Carbon Fiber Forks: You MUST use the Carbon Expansion Plug version. Hammering a star nut into a carbon steerer tube will crack and destroy the carbon.
The 44mm Tapered Conversion Secret: If your frame has a straight 44mm tube top and bottom, but you want to install a modern Tapered fork (wider at the bottom), you must choose the "44-44 to Tapered" option. It uses an External Cup (EC) that sits outside the frame to hold the larger lower bearing.

Option 3: 44-55mm Tapered
Fitment: Frame inner diameter 44mm top / 55mm bottom.
Fork: Fits Tapered forks (1-1/8" to 1.5").

Option 4: 44-56mm Tapered
Fitment: Frame inner diameter 44mm top / 56mm bottom.
